Drying is a very long established means of preservation for seaweed,Seaweed lends itself to drying because of natural salt content.
The most common method at the moment utilizes dehumidification and air movement.
These seaweed drying systems can either operate as batch dryers or continuous dryers.
Batch seaweed dryers hang or lay flat a batch of product at a time, and the dried product is removed and replaced.
Our Batch seaweed dryers are innovative drying chambers designed for low operating costs, They are based on the reverse Carnot principle which leverages airflow, a closed chamber, heat pumps and a programmable control system to create the most efficient drying curves and consistent and repeatable end product.
The airflow system is comprised of multiple sets of axial flow fans, air ducts, cold air inlets and a dehumidification system. Based on the relative humidity in the drying chamber the computer control system regulates a combination of supplementary air, dehumidification and the heat pump to complete the most efficient drying curve.
A proprietary system of temp, humidity and equipment controls work seamlessly to adjust as needed to intelligently control the drying process from start to finish.
The insulation chamber is made out of integrated structural foam. The interior walls are made out of food grade plastic. All material touch points are made from 304 stainless to meet food grade standards and requirements.
Continuous dryers have a multi-layer conveyor belt that can continuously absorb new materials and output the dried materials to another conveyor. They are usually used for large-scale commercial drying of seaweed.
Continuous seaweed dryer is designed utilize the combination of heat and air to rapidly dry Seaweed. Material enters via conveyor into a multi layer belt system where by it is dried by airflow and heat. A static pressure chamber is formed at the bottom of the equipment through a bottom air supply so air evenly passes through four material layers.
